"Love is in the air...Everywhere I look around, Love is in the air...Every sight and every sound,.."

February has long been a month of romance. It is the month associated with Valentine's Day celebrations....the day to celebrate love! Every year, the fourteenth day of the month of February has millions across the world presenting their loved ones with candy, flowers, chocolates and other lovely gifts. It is the day to spread the love and exchange affectionate gifts to one another. It would be a great time to express your love to that someone special too.

In many countries, restaurants and eateries are seen to be filled with couples who are eager to celebrate their relationship and the joy of their togetherness through delicious cuisines. Valentine's Day is not all about "love". Admiration of another is also included...act as if it's another way to say thanks for being a friend. There hardly seems to be a young man or woman who is not keen to make the most of the day.

There are varying opinions as to the origins of Valentine's Day and how people celebrate it. Majority of men will do the routines...purchasing flowers and chocolate for their sweethearts because that is what everyone else is doing. Some celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration (my opinion). The more you spend the more you love them, right? Wrong! Showing someone you care on Valentine's Day does not have to cost a lot of money.

'Cheap and simple' or 'expensive and fancy' whichever you choose...most importantly is the thoughts and words that matters. Simple, heartfelt gestures are the best way to offer the gift of love. It’s usually the small things that make the biggest difference to us. If someone takes the time to really know you and show you they know and appreciate who you are, then happiness and the feeling that we wish for each and every Valentine’s Day can be felt more often than just February 14th.

As for me, spending money on roses and expensive dinner on that day is not really my cup of tea. Roses will be sky rocketed to double the price or even more. Some may feel it is worthwhile no matter how much it cost to their pockets. If you really want to take your significant other out to dinner on the most expensive night of the year and buy them a dozen red roses, go for it...but be prepared to spend a lot of cash!

WISE spending is still the BEST! Pick some ideas for a much less expensive and memorable way to say "I love you". For your info...I had one of my Valentine's Day roses from my hubby...fresh all the way from Cameron Highlands still wrapped up in newspaper! Super cheap! Not to say he does not love me...but just the idea all the way from Cameron Highlands...means something! (In fact he was on his way back from a company mission there)  :))

It doesn’t take much, but the rewards of doing little things for our loved ones are immeasurable. Don't wait until its too late to tell someone how much you love and how much you care. Use this information to bring happiness to your loved ones on a regular basis, not just on the day when someone tells you to.....
